"White ducks", a kind of shoe?
Is this a kind of loafer? I remember the term "white ducks" from the 1970's or before, but I don't recall what they looked like.
I'm asking because in the 1986 movie "pretty in Pink", Duckie, one of the main characters, always wears filthy white loafers with two (non-functional) buckle straps. At the end of the movie, at the prom, he points to them and says "I will always be a duck man." And maybe his name comes from the shoes.
I know there's something called "duck boots." But boots for hunting ducks are not at all what I have in mind. Anyone have a good memory?
"Duck" is a white canvas. So duck shoes are loafers made of white canvas.
